Pageant successfully concluded
For
a week in January 2008, the hotel was turned
into a center of international attention
when the Top Model of the World beauty pageant
came to town. The gala show on 18 January
2008 brought world-class entertainment to
the Red Sea, with the hotel's gala tent
for the event filled to capacity. The 15th
Top Model of the World became Ms. Alessandra
Alores from Germany, aged 23, who was elected
out of 41 top models from around the globe
at a world-class election show. The title
of first runner up went to the top model
from Belarus, Ms. Alena Aladka, aged 23,
who was born in Minsk and who also holds
the title of Miss World Belarus 2007. As
second runner up came the Egyptian top model,
Lobna Amin, aged 20. All the jury of nine,
as well as the organisers of the pageant,
the WBO World Beauty Organization, and the
host, the Steigenberger Al Dau Beach Hotel,
did an excellent job in seeing this event
through to a successful completion and in
bringing the world's attention to Egypt
and in particular the Red Sea. What made
the event possible was the support of the
Egyptian Tourist Authority (ETA) and the
